The debt consolidation is a process designed to help combine most, if not all of your unsecured debt and make one single monthly payment. The accounts will still exist but the consumer pays one single monthly bill to a the credit counseling body who manages the debt consolidation program. This way, the different financial obligations are organized and accurately managed each month. The debt management program is a plan individually designed to provide a unique solution for a financial situation of each consumer. It offers help with credit card payments through budget education and coordination with your creditors. Professionally trained credit counselors will evaluate your financial situation, create a budget to help manage finances and debt, and work with creditors for a possible reduction in finance charges, late fees and/or over-limit charges, monthly payments and time to pay off the debt. The credit cards banks will close the customer’s accounts and restrict the accounts to future charges.
